THE EXPERIENCE:
 📍Considered one of the most beautiful villages in the country, Piódão stands out with its beautiful history, its typical slate and slate houses, with blue wooden windows form an amphitheater in this steep mountain range, being nicknamed “Nativity Village”

 📍 The small village of Montanha da Cabeça, in the municipality of Seia, is once again the most ecological Christmas village in the country.
 After being forced, due to the pandemic, to an exclusively digital edition, Cabeça, Aldeia Natal returns in 2022 to its traditional format. At this Festival, which is now in its 10th edition, the original concept is maintained: all of the Village's decoration is made from resources and materials from forest thinning and cleaning and with the passion and ingenuity of the village's people! After all, Christmas in Aldeia de Montanha de Cabeça is as genuine and pure as the air you breathe here. 

 It is the inhabitants who work to transform this village into the most peculiar and sustainable village in Natal. Everything is done with the wise hands of the approximately 170 residents of this Mountain Village and with natural materials that result from the surgical cleaning of the forests of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park and neighboring land. Brooms, vines, pine trees, leaves, corn canes, and other recycled materials are the raw material for Christmas decorations. 
 All the work is done by the community, with the commitment of all the village's communities (Assembly of Shareholders of Baldios de Cabeça and Support Center for the Elderly of Cabeça), the Integrated Development Association of the Aldeias de Montanha Network (ADIRAM), of the Municipality of Seia and the Parish Union of Vide and Cabeça. It is the inhabitants who give body and soul to the decoration of this Christmas party. Everything is done to be in harmony with the true Christmas spirit of communion and sharing.

 The setting is unique: anyone who visits Cabeça at this time of year can experience the real Christmas of the most genuine people on the mountain. The doors of the inhabitants' homes open to bring the small Christmas Market to life, and the taverns and streets are spaces where the community merges with visitors. But it's at dusk that the magic happens with thousands of LED technology lights illuminating the alleys and the typical shale houses of Cabeça (remember that this was the first LED village in the country, a real contribution to energy efficiency and promotion of low carbon economy).
